Students and faculty members from PCELL participated in the second edition of the hands-on training program on chemical informatics research in Thailand.

Students and faculty members from PCELL participated in the second edition of the Workshop on Science and Technology toward Astrochemistry Research in Thailand, held at Flora Creek Hotel, Chiang Mai, from July 23rd to 27th, 2023.

The workshop introduced research in the field of Astrochemistry and provided training on using the ORCA program for molecular structure simulations in astrochemical research. Simulated scenarios were created to reduce time and costs associated with actual experiments. Currently, researchers from the Linear Electron Accelerator Laboratory, Chiang Mai University, are collaborating with scientists from the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) to develop chambers for simulating conditions similar to those in space or interstellar medium. These efforts involve constructing chambers and simulating various molecular structures for astrochemical research. Additionally, the workshop included other research topics related to astrochemistry, such as biologically relevant chemistry research and the application of terahertz spectroscopy in astrochemical research.
