The students from PCELL participated in the Summer Exchange Program in Germany for the year 2023.

During July 18th to September 7th, 2023, students from the Linear Electron Accelerator Laboratory, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, representing one of the four Thai delegates, participated in the 2023 Summer Exchange Program at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg, Germany, under the sponsorship of DESY, the Crown Property Bureau under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (a public organization).

As part of the program, participants attended lectures by DESY researchers on particle accelerators and applications of synchrotron light in various fields. Additionally, the organizers arranged visits to laboratories within DESY and the European XFEL institute to inspire participants in fields related to particle acceleration. Moreover, collaborative short-term research was conducted with the FLASH-D research group (Free electron LASer in Hamburg Photon Diagnosis and controls), focusing on the topic "Analysis of Ultra-Short XUV FEL pulses." During this research, students from PCELL contributed to studying the specific properties of pulses generated by FEL light sources.
