On April 3-5, 2022, Dr. Isao Watanabe from RIKEN institute and a team from J-PARC, Japan, visited the Linear Electron Accelerator Laboratory, Plasma and Beam Physics Research Center, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University. The purpose of their visit was to conduct seminars, exchange knowledge, and establish cooperation with research institutes in Japan, namely the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC) and the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN).
During their visit, they toured various research units of the Plasma and Beam Physics Research Center, including the Linear Electron Accelerator Research Laboratory and the Ion Beam Technology Building. Additionally, special lectures were held at Physics Building 2, Department of Physics and Materials Science, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University. The seminar featured four main topics:
- Presentation on "Introduction of J-PARC" by Prof. Koichiro Shimomura from J-PARC.
- บรรยายเรื่อง “Research and developments at J-PARC”
Presentation on "Research and developments at J-PARC" by Naritoshi Kawamura from J-PARC. - บรรยายเรื่อง “Developments of new detectors for muons”
Presentation on "Developments of new detectors for muons" by Dr. Shoichiro Nishimura from J-PARC. - Presentation on "Research examples using muons, strongly correlated and organic systems" by Dr. Isao Watanabe from RIKEN.
This seminar aimed to foster strong international collaboration networks and transfer research skills to students and research assistants, thereby developing human resources in particle acceleration and muon applications for future endeavors.
